How you can help

How your school can get involved

There are many ways that nurseries and schools can get involved with fundraising for Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, and we would be delighted to have your school or nurseries support. We have plenty of ideas and resources for teachers and children of all ages, and our fundraisers are delighted to visit local schools to give a presentation to the children, on the work of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation.

'Too Cool for School' is a fun-filled, non-uniform day which is a great way for children to get involved and raise funds for a very special cause.  Why not invite one of our fundraisers along to your school or nursery to talk to the children about the projects that we help to support.  Learning about projects such as MediCinema and the Clown Doctors often helps children understand the real and lasting difference their contribution can make. We are always delighted to see young people in Scotland help other young people, and develop a strong sense of responsibility and citizenship, in line with the current Curriculum for Excellence.

We can also provide primary schools with a range of resources to help teach the children about life in Yorkhill Hospital.

Other ideas for how your school or nursery can get involved!

  • Adopt Yorkhill Children’s Foundation as your Charity of the Year. Working together, we aim to build a relationship with the school and put together a year long calendar of fundraising initiatives which can be enjoyed by all age groups eg, events, assemblies, awareness campaigns and much more.
  • Organise a collection at your Christmas concert, or end of year assembly.
  • Organise a Sponsored Event in support of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation. Eg, walk, run, swim, read, spell, silence, jump, hop and much more.
  • Recycle for Yorkhill.
Why not organise a mobile phone amnesty, or set up a recycle collection box in your Assembly Hall for pupils and teachers to donate their old printer cartridges and mobile phones.
