How you can help

On Your Wedding Day

If you are thinking of asking for something a little different for your wedding gift, why not do as Anna and Craig did and make your wedding day that extra bit special by sharing it with Yorkhill Childrens Hospital and making a donation which will help improve both the life and health of thousands of children across Scotland and beyond.

When Anna and Craig started planning for their wedding, they decided to do something different when picking out their wedding gifts. Thinking outside of the traditional wedding gift ideas, their thoughts turned to Craig’s niece Cerys James, who had just turned seven and who suffers from Type One diabetes. Being a bubbly and clever girl, having diabetes can make Cerys feel fed up and tired, and knowing this is something she has to live with for the rest of her life can get her down.

Yorkhill provides Cerys ongoing diabetes treatment through their Diabetes Service, prompting Anna and Craig to give something back to the hospital through this unique wedding gift. Between their friends and family they managed to raise £800, a fantastic amount which will go towards helping many children just like Cerys.

There are lots of different ways to make a donation this way, from setting up a JustGiving page to purchasing special Yorkhill wedding favours to give to your guests on the day! If you are interested please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing Kimberley Goodger at kimberley.goodger@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.
